Virtual Assistant by IntelAccording to a new detail, a virtual assistant will now be available on the desktop PCs as well. American semiconductor company Intel is in a deal with Sensory to use Sensory’s TrulyHandsfree™ Voice Control technology  for all intel’s computers that come with Skylake, Anniedale, Broxton, Broadwell and Merrifield SoCs.

It’s a big step by Intel, as we can see, almost all big companies produce their devices with their virtual voice recognition assistant pre-installed in them. Android has Google Now, Microsoft has its Cortana, and Apple offers Siri. People are also getting crazy for these kinds of softwares as they make their lives easier.

If you observe, most of the people these days don’t even touch their smartphone for receiving a call, sending a text message or browsing the internet. All they do is speak. You can see in offices and even in homes, people just keep their smartphones on the desk with activated artificial intelligence. Whenever they need to use their cell phone, they just speak the word of the app, and the smartphone automatically opens the app without the need of touching or holding the phone, thanks to the virtual assistant softwares.

Now, not only smartphones will come with these kinds of softwares, but even desktop computers, Macs, Laptops will provide this technology.

The computers which will come with the latest intel chips will automatically offer Sensory’s TrulyHandsfree™ app on it. All you need to do is, just say “Hey”, in the microphone of the computer, and the virtual assistant app will be activated.

This opens another door of competition for virtual assistant softwares. Let’s take a look on the three major virtual assistant softwares below:

Microsoft Virtual Assistant “Cortana”

Microsoft Cortana is an intelligent personal assistant, created by Microsoft for its Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. It can speak English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese language. It can create reminders, events, tells the weather, checks news, and can tell the jokes. It answers every question in a to-the-point manner, without any extra details.

Google Now

Google Now assistant searches your queries on Google search engine and answers your questions instanly. It does not offer any extra features like jokes, playing games etc.

Apple Siri

Unlike Microsoft Cortana and Google’s Now, Apple’s Siri is way more intelligent and fun to use. It answers every question in a creative and a playful manner. For example, if you ask Siri, “Are you stupid?,” it will reply, “I am smart enough to know not to answer that question.” It can also play games, tell jokes etc.

Conclusion

For the time being, Apple’s Siri is leading in the list of virtual assistants, but we don’t know about the future. Cortana and Google Now should also provide some fun features to its users so that the users can enjoy having a good time on their smartphones.
