The government is planning to allow citizens of 55 countries an opportunity to visit Pakistan by having a visa on arrival service.
According to the Adviser to the Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood, Policy regarding the visa on arrival status has been prepared and will be presented to PM Imran Khan in January 2019.
“No Policy will be devised without the opinion and consideration of security agencies and institutions of the state,” said Abdul Razak Dawood.
Note here that earlier in January Pakistan allowed visa on arrival for group tourists, not individuals, for 24 countries including the citizens of the United States of America and the United Kingdom.
The recent development to allow individuals to come to Pakistan by availing visa on arrival is to promote the tourism industry in the country and eventually generate revenue. Many countries in the world including Dubai and Thailand are already boosting their tourism industry by facilitating tourists with such kind of strategy.
The decision to extend visa on arrival status to more countries will surely enhance Pakistan’s dying tourism status and will help in promoting the softer image of the country globally.
