The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ were revealed last night and have seen mix reviews since then. It is too early to label a product as a failure but in addition to great features, there were some that did not live up to the expectations. Here’s a list of four ways Samsung let us down.
Same Camera as S7
The Galaxy S8 comes with the same camera as the Galaxy S7. The camera of S7 edge was great but Samsung should’ve included something new; at least a dual camera since budget phones like Honor 6X are no coming with a dual cam.
The front camera is an improved 8MP camera with autofocus which is a welcome addition since most front cameras do not have an autofocus capability.
Same Phone, Different Chips
Galaxy S8 and S8+ do include the latest Snapdragon 835 but only for U.S. The international release will house Samsung’s Exonys chip which might be a real turn off for some as there are good options available on the market with excellent Qualcomm chips.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ have a 3000mAh and 3500mAh batteries respectively, which are both smaller than the Galaxy S7 Edge’s battery. However, the batteries have a new wireless charging feature.
