According to the latest stats by Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA), the 3G/4G subscribers have crossed the 47 million mark in Pakistan. This figure was 46 million a month ago, which shows that how quickly people are accepting mobile broadband in Pakistan to access the Internet.
Pakistan had total 35.5 million 3G/4G subscribers in October 2016, a number which has grown a lot in the past year, indicating that Pakistanis are rapidly walking towards the path of a connected world.
When it comes to 4G subscribers, Zong is at the top of the list, followed by Jazz and then Telenor Pakistan. Talking about 3G technology, Jazz has beaten the telcos to gain the first position followed by Telenor Pakistan, Zong and then Ufone.
It is clear that Ufone is falling behind other telcos as it is the only telecom company that has not jumped towards 4G technology.
Until November 2017, there are 143 million mobile phone users in the country and total 50 million broadband. Jazz is the largest telecom operator in Pakistan with 53.5 million users followed by Telenor Pakistan with 41.2 million, Zong with 29.8 million and lastly Ufone with 18.8 million users.
In terms of customer complaints, PTA has reported that the PTCL and Jazz have topped the charts with 966 and 713 complaints respectively.
