According to the latest figures released by the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA), 3G/4G subscribers in Pakistan have crossed the 49 million mark in Pakistan.
By the end of December 2017, the country had 48.19 million 3G/4G subscribers, a fact which shows the rapid internet penetration across the country.
As of January 2018, the total 3G/4G subscribers have grown to 49,646,474
The stats issued by PTA indicate the growing inclination of Pakistanis towards the connected world.
Zong has retained its first position as the company with the most 4G users in Pakistan followed by Jazz and Telenor. When it comes to 3G subscribers, Jazz has maintained its top position followed by Telenor, Zong and then Ufone.
The total broadband subscribers have reached 52 million whereas the total cellular subscribers in Pakistan have reached to 146 million, which were 144.52 million by the end of December 2017.
Jazz is still the largest telco in the country with 54.03 million users in the country
Telenor stands at the second spot with 42.11 million subscribers followed by Zong with 30.53 users and Ufone with 19.30 users in Pakistan.
Ufone has been falling behind the other telcos with a considerable difference. It is the only brand that has not made the jump towards 4G technology and is still far behind in leading the 3G subscribers base.
