HMD Global still carries the same excitement as it did at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 when it officially relaunched Nokia devices in the world. This year, the company has continued the same pattern and has brought 4 new smartphones, Nokia 1, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco and one revived feature phone, Nokia 8110.
We have already seen the best features of Nokia 7 Plus, the company’s new mid-range device. Now let’s see what are the unique and best features of the company’s flagship Nokia 8 Sirocco smartphone.
Nokia 8 Sirocco has a premium metal and glass design that look and feels fantastic in a hand. It has a curved display that reminds us of Samsung’s flagship devices but don’t mistake this statement to think that they are the same thing.
The company has outdone its last year’s devices to provide a much asked for a premium smartphone that can compete with the other flagship devices. The glass body of Nokia 8 Sirocco and reduced bezels give it a premium appeal.
The smartphone features dual camera; 12MP main sensor and 13MP telephoto lens that are tuned by Zeiss optics. The camera setup enables the user to use the bokeh effect, blurring the background in the shots.
The user can choose the level of background blur without taking the photograph to get the desired result. Due to the presence of Stock Android, the smartphone doesn’t offer too many features in the cameras that can be seen in other Android devices like that of Huawei, Samsung, Oppo etc. but a user is always welcome to install camera apps for various features.
The dual cameras make it a prime candidate for becoming a photography partner. The users can also tweak different settings in the Pro mode by dragging up the shutter key.
Nokia 8 Sirocco is another Android One device by HMD Global which means that the smartphone will receive the next two major Android OS updates as well as three years of security updates.
The smartphone comes with Stock Android with no bloatware apps that are mostly pre-installed on the Android devices who feature their own user interfaces.
Nokia 8 Sirocco supports wireless charging, a feature which was not present in the previous variant of the smartphone, Nokia 8. Now the users don’t always have to plug in their smartphone via wires rather a simple charging pad will do the trick.
Are you just like me that runs out of phone’s memory even if the company is offering 64GB of internal memory? If yes then you’ll be happy to hear that you don’t have to buy a memory card anymore as Nokia 8 Sirocco offers a large 128GB of internal memory.
The massive internal storage is coupled with a 6GB of RAM that will surely make this device a powerhouse. Though we are a bit disappointed to see the last year’s chipset Snapdragon 835 in the smartphone where new flagships like Galaxy S9 will opt for Snapdragon 845, 6GB RAM will likely provide the fast assistance to the users.
