The immigration websites in the New Zealand are saying that a massive Internet traffic has been observed in the last 24 hours. The Immigration New Zealand website says that the site has seen an increase of 2500% in its traffic. More than 56,000 people visited the site in the last 24 hours; this is more than the usual visitors.

Another internet site, New Zealand Now has said that 70,500 American people visited the website while regularly, around 1500 people visit this site. It is important to recall that the servers of a Canadian immigration website went down at the time of the US election.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) say that its website became “temporarily inaccessible to users as a result of significant increase in the volume of traffic.”

The surge in the interest from the Americans in moving to New Zealand began a month before the US presidential election, with twice the level of activity seen compared with a year before.

In the year to June, 1,288 Americans were approved to go to the New Zealand, 8,876 Americans were permitted for work visas and 2,997 Americans successfully applied for the student visas.
