The big news for Pakistani tech and financial sector and particularly those who are somehow into e-commerce that Alibaba Group Chairman and founder Jack Ma has shown interest in Pakistani e-commerce industry. He has reportedly expressed an intention to invest in Pakistan while meeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
As reported by PTV while quoting Jack Ma that he and his company are closely monitoring the growth in Pakistan’s e-commerce sector that has convinced them to explore opportunities in Pakistan.
While referring to CPEC Ma said that his operations in Pakistan would provide opportunities to further enhance the benefits of bilateral trade between Pakistan and China.
He told PM Nawaz that his group is already providing services to 60 million companies across the world and it will also benefit the small and medium scale industry in Pakistan.
Jack Ma also invited PM Nawaz to visit the head office of Alibaba in Guangzhou which was also reciprocated by the PM by inviting Ma to visit Pakistan.
