If you are bored with Google Assistant and want to try a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) based app, then make up your plans for buying the next powerful smartphone from Samsung, because the company is working to add its AI app on its upcoming device. Yes, the Galaxy S8 will come with Samsung’s own artificial intelligence service.
According to the details, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer will add a voice-assistant called “Viv” into the Galaxy S8. The users will be able to control their home appliances and wearables by using this app.
Moreover, this AI will let the users order food, add appointments to the calendar, set the alarm, and do a lot of other things on their Galaxy S8.
While talking about the AI assistant, Samsung Executive Vice President Rhee Injong said, “Developers can attach and upload services to our agent. Even if Samsung doesn’t do anything on its own, the more services that get attached, the smarter this agent will get, learn more new services and provide them to end-users with ease.”
It is important to mention that Viv is a company formed by the developers of Siri and it was acquired by Samsung in October.
After completely stopping the production of the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7, Samsung wants to regain its reputation by launching the Galaxy S8, and that is why the company has decided to introduce some new and attractive features on this device.
Samsung Galaxy S8 will be launched in the first quarter of 2017, and the company has not officially announced what kind of features this device will boast. But the analysts are expecting that it would be a major device by Samsung.
After the launch of Samsung’s Artificial Intelligence service, the competition will be enhanced in the field of voice assistants. Presently, Apple’s Siri and Google’s Assistant are two leading AI-based tools in the app market.
