Flagships are undoubtedly pretty cool but let’s be honest; it’s the mid-range phones that the companies are actually putting their true efforts in. Providing a cutting-edge design and capable specs in a controlled budget is definitely a challenge. Honor 8X, Huawei Nova 3i, and Oppo F9 are the best and most recent examples of such phones.

Being the latest offering from their respective companies, though all the three phones vary slightly in their prices, they belong to the same midrange category. So we thought why not let the phones battle it out in battery arena? Here is what we found out in our battery comparison of the three phones.

Battery Charging Time

All the phones come with a slight difference in battery capacities. Honor 8X comes with a 3750mAh battery that can be charged via a micro USB port. Unfortunately, doesn’t come with a fast charging technology which drags the charging time from 0% to 100% in 2 hours 48 minutes

Huawei Nova 3i stoops even lower in battery charging time. It charges from 0% to 100% in a longer period of 2hours 48 minutes. It is specifically shocking as the Nova 3i packs a smaller battery of 3500mAh and should charge faster, instead it takes longer time as it also doesn’t support fast charging.

Oppo F9 takes the crown here. Equipped with a 3500mAh battery along with the company’s VOOC charging technology, it charges up from flat 0% to 100% in just 1 hour 32 minutes. VOOC charging has earned quite the name for itself among the best fast charging technologies.

Battery Drain Time

For our drain test, we charged the devices to 100% and played a 1080p video on all of them till every single drop of the battery was drained out. During the test, the brightness and the volume both were cranked to full.

With a battery of 3750mAh, we were expecting Honor 8X to top the drain test and that’s exactly what happened. Honor 8X gave us the highest playback time of 4hours and 39minutes.

Though Nova 3i packs a battery with considerably lower capacity and also took the most time to charge, it delivered pretty decent results our battery drain test and gave a video playback time of 4hours 35 minutes.

Winner of the battery charging test, Oppo F9, failed miserably in the drain test and made it up to only 3hours 45 minutes which is almost an hour less than the other two phones.
