After the successful integration of mobile-based taxi service in the country, Careem Pakistan has introduced a new motorbike service for its customers, providing a much cheaper transport solution to its customers.
Think this is a joke? Well, it’s not. Though the company has not officiated the deed but the Careem’s mobile app shows a new option “Zoom” with the picture of a motorcycle which gives us hope that the company is now venturing into a motorbike service.
The concept of motorbike service is not new in the country as we have previously seen Bykea, an on demand ride-hailing and parcel delivery service in Karachi that exclusively focused on the use of motorbikes. Couch potato, mobile app based freelance delivery service, also features motorbike riders that promise to do your everyday chores for you.
The new service of Careem doesn’t come off as a surprise as the company is expanding its operations for quite some time. Following Uber’s lead, it introduced its rickshaw hailing service last year. Recently, it has launched its services in Multan, Gujranwala, and Sialkot and has also included a fleet of 25,000 local Taxis in Islamabad & Rawalpindi.
Though the company has not confirmed its new service yet, but we are hopeful that careem would soon announce the big news for all of us.
