Last month, WhatsApp finally introduced the much-awaited feature of deleting the sent messages but there was one catch, it has to be done under 7 minutes. But wait! what about those people who realize their mistake after quite a few hours have passed?
Well if you’re one of those people, don’t despair as we are here to guide you how to delete sent WhatsApp messages when more than 7 minutes have passed. So sit back, relax and Close WhatsApp to the follow these steps:
Step 1: Turn on Airplane mode on your Device
To delete sent WhatsApp messages, the first thing that you need to do is turn on the airplane mode on your device by accessing the notifications panel or going to the phone’s settings.
Step 2: Change Date and Time
- Go to Settings
- Turn off “Automatic date & time”
- Tap on “Set date” and “Set time”
- change them back to how old the messages are.
Step 3: Delete Sent Messages
- Open WhatsApp
- Navigate to the message you want to delete
- Press the message until selected”
- Then tap on the delete icon and select “delete for everyone”
Step 4: Close Whatsapp and turn off Airplane mode
This is the most simple step; all you have to do is close the mobile app and exit the Airplane mode.
This method also comes with a catch i.e. it only works for messages that are up to one week old. If you try to delete any message that is more than one week old, a pop-up will appear saying “WhatsApp Error; The date and time of your phone are incorrect. Please adjust it”
