Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 835 was the first to introduce the Quick Charge 4.0 feature but it’s still nowhere to be found. The Quick Charge 4.0 promises to charge your battery from 0-50% in just around 15 minutes.
According to reports, Qualcomm says the feature will be more visible in the smartphone market just before the start of the third quarter of 2017. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ were the first to feature the Snapdragon 835 but even they don’t come with Quick Charge 3.0 let alone the Quick Charge 4.0.
Other smartphones to have housed the Snapdragon 835 are Sony XZ Premium and the newly released Xiaomi Mi6 however, these phones also do not include the Quick Charge 4.0 facility. It is still unclear why the feature is not available and Qualcomm has been tight-lipped about it up til now.
Many smartphones packing the Snapdragon 835 are yet to be announced with many major releases scheduled for Spring and it is expected the Quick Charge 4.0 will be a more prominent inclusion in those phones.
Samsung’s first dual camera phone, the Galaxy Note 8 is also rumored to be announced this September and it may well be the first Samsung phone to have extremely fast charge qualities.
