The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested three individuals connected with the case of blasphemous content on social media.

The anti-terrorism court (ATC) has handed over the three accused individuals to the FIA on a seven-day remand for allegedly posting blasphemous content on social media websites mainly Facebook.

The FIA also seized the laptops of the accused and has sent them for forensic analysis.The ATC Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi has directed the authorities to present a complete investigation report in the next hearing.

The social media blasphemy case has stirred quite an uproar in the past weeks where IHC judge asked the authorities to eliminate the blasphemous content at the expense of blocking the entire social media.

Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar also vowed to leave no stone unturned to effectively block blasphemous content on the internet. The government has been trying to pursue the leads and have asked for help from the administrations of various sites. facebook is

In response to the government’s demand for action, Facebook is sending a delegation for discussing the matter with the concerned authorities. Justice Shaukat Aziz in the last hearing of social media blasphemy case said that if the Facebook administration is not cooperating, then the government should ban the site altogether.
