Chaudhary Nisar, Interior Minister of Pakistan has taken notice of the social media campaign that is allegedly promoting sectarianism in Pakistan.
He has directed the cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) to investigate and trace the people involved in this malicious campaign and take strict action against them.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Interior Minister relays that the country is facing multiple challenges right now and there is dire need of national unity and harmony.
He has appealed to the Nation and the religious leaders of all sects to play their due role to create inter-sect harmony and raise their voice against those elements who are promoting sectarianism through their nefarious designs.
The said campaign has been started recently after the Parachanar blast which killed several while injured hundreds in its wake. Many people on social media have been protesting the silence of other communities on this tragic incident.
People are sharing their dismay over the lack of any visit by the political leaders to console the victims of the blast just before Eid-ul-Fitar.
Nisar has contacted the Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony to prepare a strategy in consultations with religious leaders of all the sects.
