Now taxpayers can file tax returns offline with the new application called Iris-ADX (Asynchronous Data exchange), introduced by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
With this application taxpayer/E-intermediary can prepare data related to sales tax return including sales invoices, debit/credit notes and sales tax withholding without any internet connection whatsoever.
Internet connectivity used to be the main problem for many people when they opted to file tax returns as the connectivity issue, peak load and system downtime etc. made it a frustrating task rather than a convenient one.
With the introduction of Iris-ADX, the taxpayer will never have to worry about the speed and efficiency of data entry and will facilitate the large taxpayers including DISCOs, MNCs etc. in the preparation of data.
Once the invoices are processed in the offline mode, the taxpayer will mark them for synchronization with the FBR’s data repositories on demand. You can download the FBR’s new application and read the step by step instructions on how to install it by clicking here.
Currently, the FBR has launched the first version of Iris-ADX which will soon be updated to soon allow the taxpayers to prepare all declaration including Income Tax Returns/Statements offline. FBR also recently started close monitoring of mobile phone users in Pakistan to broaden the tax net.
