Not long after the launch of its triple camera phone, Galaxy A7 2018, Samsung has taken the wraps off the world’s first phone with four rear cameras, galaxy A9 2018. The device was unveiled at the ‘4X Fun’ event held in Malaysia.
Another highlight of the phone is its infinity design display which allows the phone to achieve an 18.5:9 aspect ratio even without housing a notch.
“As a global leader in smartphone innovation, we understand the demand for meaningful innovation in a fast-paced world driven by visual communication,” said DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics.
Galaxy A9 2018 is a dual nano SIM phone that runs on Android Oreo. With a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED panel having 1080×2220 pixels and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, it is intended to deliver an immersive viewing experience; especially a delight for the users who loathe the infamous notch.
Coming to the optics, the first camera on the phone is an 8MP f/2.4 120° ultra-wide angle sensor. A 10MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom rests on second place. Below that we have a 24MP f/1.7 camera. All of these are followed by a 5MP f/2.2 depth camera. Upping its selfie game, the handset sports a 24MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
As for the storage, the phone comes with 128GB internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 512GB). All of the internals are powered by a massive 3800mAh battery which is also fast charging supported.
