Samsung announced the availability of its latest mid-range smartphone, Galaxy J8. The device features the Samsung’s trendy infinity display along with a dual camera setup and is priced at Rs. 44,000 in Pakistan.
Earlier in May this year, Samsung introduced Galaxy J6, J4 along with the A6 and A6+. Samsung has been setting the practice to equip its midrange phones with the infinity display technology used in its flagships.
Samsung Galaxy J8 features a 6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone comes with Qualcomm’s entry-level Snapdragon 450 processor paired with 4GB of RAM along with 64 GB of onboard storage. The phone also comes with a microSD card slot and can further expand the storage up to 256 GB
As for the optics, the phone comes with a dual camera setup at its rear which comprises a 16MP+5MP cameras with f/1.7 and f/1.9 apertures respectively. The rear camera features the ‘Live Focus’ that lets you adjust the background blur of a picture even after capturing it.
For selfies, Galaxy J8 sports a 16MP camera with a f/1.9 aperture. On the software front, the device runs Android Oreo and is backed by a 3,500mAh battery.
Samsung also introduced ‘Video over Chat’ feature for messaging apps on Galaxy J8. This feature lets users chat on different apps like WhatsApp, Messenger while watching videos. The transparent chatbox will appear over the video allowing users to chat simultaneously while watching a video.
