The Korean giant took the wraps off its most anticipated phone of the year, Galaxy Note 9, in all its grandeur. The launch event was held in Brooklyn, Newyork and was telecasted live on the company’s website as well as on other social media platforms. Based on the leaks we already had a pretty good idea about the phone and its specs, and it looks like the phone has rightly received internal upgrades as the company is labeling it “the most advanced phone in the world.”
Samsung’s head of Mobile DJ Koh took to the stage to introduce the all-new Galaxy Note 9. He said, “At Samsung, we believe it is time to transcend digital experiences.” Further adding that Samsung wants their technology to be, able to seamlessly move between devices and places and yes he was referring to the integration between Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4.
Upgraded Chipset and GPU
The phone’s design didn’t receive any upgrades rather Samsung focused on equipping the phone with ultimate specs to squeeze more performance out of it. The Galaxy Note 9 comes with the Snapdragon 845, but the GPU has been optimized for better gaming, and guess what? The phone comes with a “water carbon cooling system” to maintain the temperature when indulges in long and intense gaming sessions.
RAM and Storage
Other than that the device comes with a massive 128GB memory along with 6GB of RAM and 512GB internal memory coupled with 8GB RAM. The phone also supports micro SD card up to a mammoth 1TB. This is huge, and we believe you will hardly be able to fill this memory.
Samsung pulled the Note 9’s camera system straight out of the Galaxy S9 Plus. You get the same two 12-megapixel lenses and the same dual-aperture (f/1.5 or f/2.4) trick with the primary, wide-angle camera. Super slow motion feature is also there with both lenses having optical image stabilization.
Samsung is focusing its camera improvements on software and artificial intelligence for example if your eyes are closed in a picture or any kind of lens blur occurs, the phone notifies you to take another picture.
The biggest change in the Galaxy Note 9 is the S Pen about which we already have a good idea thanks to the earlier leaks. It comes with Bluetooth connectivity and can be used to control camera shutter, play and pause youtube videos, take selfies and even navigate through powerpoint slides. The S Pen charges while resting in the phone. In a nutshell, it is the remote control for the phone.
CEO of Epic Games Tim Sweeney was also there and joined the stage to announce that the hit game Fortnite will also be making its debut into mobile gaming with the Galaxy Note 9. “The Note 9 represents a revolution for mobile gaming,” he said.
As the earlier leaks suggested, Galaxy Note 9 comes with a powerful 4000mAh battery that is the biggest ever on a Note phone. Such a huge battery should be sufficient for all your power needs including your gaming sessions and LTE usage. It should be massive enough to get you through your day easily.
Colors and Price
The device comes in four colors including Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Lavender Purple, and Pink. All of these powerful specs don’t come at an extravagant price. The 128GB/6GB version will come at a price of $999 and a top-tier 512GB / 8GB RAM version for $1,250.
