This might come as sad news for Galaxy S8 users because Android Oreo update is expected early next year, reports Samsung Turkish branch’s blog post.

Samsung has started working on the latest software update but there is no specific date or timeline for Android Oreo release on Samsung devices. However, it is being expected that Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, launched early this year, would receive the update first.

Android Oreo is the latest Android OS by Google, already available at Google Pixel and Nexus mobile devices. But third-party manufacturers like Samsung would receive the update from a couple of months to mid of 2018.

The new Huawei Mate 10 series launched earlier this month also featured the new Oreo update.

Samsung Galaxy S8 might receive Android 8 update along with the launch of Samsung Galaxy S9 but this is what we assume.

Samsung speed in rolling out software updates isn’t good as the company introduced the Nougat update a bit late. On the other hand, to keep Android 7.0 update smooth, Samsung introduced the beta program to test it on Samsung S7 and S7 Edge in November last year. So maybe we’ll see Android 8 beta version for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus next month.
