As we reported earlier, after a series of rumors and unverified leaks, Google has finally launched its Pixel event to introduce a new range of its hardware devices. The company has unveiled new smartphones under its newly launched Pixel label. Previously, it used to launch the devices under the Nexus brand. The today’s event also focuses on Virtual Reality (VR) devices, Chromecast, and more products from Google.
The major announcement of the event is the launch of Google Pixel phones. According to the official announcement, the new Pixel phones, i.e., Pixel and Pixel XL operate on the most recent version of Android, that is 7.0 (Nougat). The Pixel devices are designed to compete with the powerful flagship smartphones like iPhone and Galaxy.
Google Pixel comes with a 5-inch AMOLED screen while the Pixel XL boasts a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. Both the devices support the resolution of 1080 pixels. Google Pixel and Pixel XL are powered by a 2,770mAh and 3,450mAh battery respectively.
Both the phones run on the blazing fast and smoothest processor – the Snapdragon 821, which is known for its battery-friendly system. Aside from this, the devices pack 12 MP camera with all the modern functions.
Both the devices feature 128GB internal storage, 4GB RAM as well as 32GB cloud storage. Although the Google Pixel phones are manufactured by the HTC, both the phones display the logo of Google only.
Other products unveiled at Google Pixel event
Google has also launched its Daydream VR headset, which connects directly to your Android device. It comes in three colors for the price of $79.
Moreover, the company has unveiled Google Home, which competes with the Amazon Echo. Google Home is a hands-free device that lets you control your smart devices using your voice.
In addition to this, Google Chromecast and Google Wi-Fi are also unveiled in the event. Google Chromecast Ultra lets you stream your favorite videos to your 4K Ultra High-Definition television sets. Google Wi-Fi is a mini Wi-Fi router system.
