Summers are here which means immense heat and load shedding has been the highlight of the ordinary Pakistanis. With the rising heat wave, the industry can witness an increase in the sales of air conditioners and refrigerators all over the country.
An official of Gree, a Lahore-based company while talking to Dawn revealed that the company has experienced better sales that the previous years. Despite the surge in demand, ample pieces are available in the market and most of the sales can be credited to rising temperature in Punjab.
Gree reportedly has increased its production to almost 100pc from April 2017. Recently, the company has introduced a campaign for its energy-efficient G10 Inverter AC series featuring Wasim Akram as brand ambassador.
According to Gree’s official, the market share of inverter ACs has gone up from 50-55% last year to 60% of the total market. People are buying air conditioners to shield the young ones and people belonging to old age from the scorching heat.
Earlier this year, the company also introduced its new models in series of LOMO non-inverter ACs, promising reduced electricity consumption which will consequently save money.
