It’s is official folks! HBO has joined the list of entertainment companies that have suffered a major cyber attack and according to Entertainment Weekly the hackers have obtained the script of an unaired episode of “Game of Thrones.”
The upcoming episodes of the few popular series were stolen and put online by hackers who successfully breached the digital security systems of the company.
The thieves stole 1.5 terabytes of data and have already posted unbroadcast episodes of Ballers and Room 104 online but we have yet to encounter the writing which is suspected to be a script or a treatment of the Game of Thrones episode 4.
An anonymous email was sent to various reporters on Sunday which announced the major hack: “Hi to all mankind. The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh I forget to tell. Its HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!! You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him. HBO is falling.”
HBO Chairman Richard Plepler confirmed this news to its employees on Monday, “As most of you have probably heard by now, there has been a cyber incident directed at the company which has resulted in some stolen proprietary information, including some of our programming.”
This is a huge deal for HBO who has for long try to protect the secrets of its hit fantasy show Game of Thrones among other things. It is the most pirated shows of 2016 where people always fervently wait to download the torrent of the latest episode.
The show is currently in its seventh season and we wish spoiler free episodes to our readers.
