A few weeks earlier rumors circulated that Huawei will be releasing its new smartphone Honor V9 at the Mobile World Congress. With the MWC 2017 a thing of past now, smartphone users are still waiting for complete information on the Honor V9.
It seems the wait is now over as now know that the Chinese smartphone brand will be releasing the V9 on April 5, but a with a different name, the Honor 8 Pro.
Huawei releasing its new smartphone with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ just released is indeed a gutsy move; let’s take a look at what the phone has to offer.
It is reported that Honor 8 Pro will come with HiSilicon 960 which is said to be in direct competition with Qualcomm and Samsung’s latest chips. Since Huawei has included a dual camera in its budget Honor 6X, it is no surprise that the Honor 8 Pro will come with a dual 12MP camera as well that will be able to record 4K Ultra HD videos.
The graphics card is also an improved Mali G-71 which will support with a huge 6GB RAM, a surprise inclusion indeed keeping in consideration Huawei Chief’s statement about anything above the 4GB RAM being useless.
While a lot of smartphones are now looking to cross the 3000mAh mark, S8 has stuck with 3000mAh which is smaller than its predecessor. The Honor 8 Pro will come with a 4000mAh battery which is capable of providing a backup of up to two days according to the company.
As far as the display is concerned the Honor 8 Pro will not feature a display screen as impressive as the S8 but will have an impressive 5.7-inches Quad HD display which is better than many.
Other features include LTE support, Android Nougat 7.0 and a dual-sim option. The price has not been revealed yet but is expected to be around $394.
The Honor series has been impressive with the budget Honor 8 Lite attracting massive sales, the Honor 8 Pro promises to be an excellent release too.
