Huawei Mate 9 was launched last year and is still attracting many consumers to consider it as their primary smartphone ahead of other smartphones by companies such as Samsung and Apple. The phone has innovative features, powerful performance, and a powerful Leica camera. The revolutionary Mate 9 camera was a result of its marriage with Leica – the world’s most sophisticated camera producer.
The Huawei P10 is available in the market with snazzy camera features but the Mate 9 camera continues to impress. Mate 9 is equipped with 20 MP monochrome and 12 MP color camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) photography experience and 4K videography.
We have used the Mate 9 to take many photos with the Bokeh effect and thought to share the excellent experience and results with our readers.
The Bokeh effect was exclusive to DSLRs and while a smartphone cannot completely overtake the digital cameras just yet, they are now capable of producing pictures with this effect. The Bokeh effect means the camera renders out of focus on a certain spot in the picture making the subject you want to highlight stand out.
The Huawei Mate 9 camera with a f/2.2 aperture can create one of the best Bokeh effects if compared to other high-end smartphones in the market. It’s a bit tricky at first but is a straightforward process once you get the hang of it. Here’s how you can do it:
- Enable the aperture function.
- You can adjust the aperture size by moving your finger on a horizontal bar that appears at the bottom once you turn the function on.
- Vivid Color can be activated which can change the saturation resulting in warmer photos.
- From here on, you just need to select the subject or area you want to highlight and set the aperture value at a point which gives you the desired result.
