The Chinese giant has announced at IFA 2018, that it will be releasing the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro in October. The devices will be launched on October 16 in London and will be available shortly afterward in the UK after which the global shipments will begin.
The duo comes as a successor to the Huawei Mate 10 series and if leaks are to be considered, both the Mate 20 and the Pro version are going to get huge upgrades over their predecessors.
Huawei is known for introducing an AI dedicated unit in smartphones and this time it intends to push the limits further. Huawei Mate 20 will sport a more advanced dual NPU (Neural Processing Unit) for better AI functionalities in camera, resource management and phone’s day to day functions.
Both the phones will be the first ones to come with Kirin 980 on board, Huawei’s own chipset with the 7nm manufacturing process. The duo will be equipped with a Mali-G76 MP10 GPU.
Besides that, the layout of the CPU cores has also been changed for more efficiency where two Cortex-A76 CPU cores will clock at 2.6Ghz and the other two Cortex-A76 cores at 1.92Ghz while the remaining four Cortex-A55 cores will clock at 1.8Ghz.
While no official confirmation came about other specs of the phone, rumors suggest that the phone will come with a massive 42,00mAH battery. Huawei Mate 20 duo is also expected to feature a triple camera set up along with a tiny notch to host the front camera.
