This year, Apple outdid its competition by introducing two very distinct features in its tenth-anniversary smartphone i.e. FaceID and Animoji. Huawei, the Chinese smartphone giant is now gearing up to beat the US-based tech giant by introducing competing technology.

At the launch of Huawei Honor V10, the new flagship device of the company’s sub-brand, Huawei revealed some new tech that it is working on which will be integrated into the future products.

The company is working on its very own structured light 3D sensor at the front of the device that will build a detailed model of the user’s face with 300,000 points in 10 seconds. This sensor will probably be used for unlocking the device and carry out secure money transactions.

The system will trigger in 0.4s when the face recognition will be used for unlocking the device. Huawei is also working on iPhone inspired animojis where it claims to have an upper hand due to its detailed tracking system like it can know when you’ve got your tongue sticking out to bring the goofiness in your message.

The two features were not launched with V10 but we can expect them to be the part of either Huawei P11 or Mate 11. Let’s see when the company will perfect its craft and offer FaceID and animojis to users.
