The Board of Directors of Ignite – National Technology Fund (formerly National ICT R&D Fund) under the chairmanship of Mrs. Anusha Rahman, Minister of State for IT & Telecom reviewed the progress on the award of National Incubation Center Quetta. On the recommendation of the Ignite company, the Board resolved to approve, the award of NIC Quetta contract to M/S Lums/BUITEMS.

The Minister also reviewed the timeline for the inauguration of National Incubation Center Karachi for which the contract between Ignite and LMKT was signed on 01 February 2018 in a ceremony held at PM Secretariat Islamabad.

The first National Incubation Center was launched last year in Islamabad as a result of a unique public-private partnership of Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom (MOITT), National ICT R&D Fund, Jazz, and Teamup. National Incubation Center in Peshawar was inaugurated last month where each year 25 handpicked startups will be given a chance to be incubated at the facility.

The Board also congratulated the Ignite team on the successful launch of DigiSkills Training Program in a ceremony which was graced by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

The Board directed the Ignite company to ensure that Digiskills program is launched within the timelines given by the Board and in the contract.
