Instagram, one of the hottest social media apps is bringing a bunch of new features including video chats, AR filters, a redesigned Explore page and a new anti-bullying feature in the comments section, etc.
At F8, Facebook’s developer conference, on Tuesday the social media company listed all the new features that will be making their debut in the Instagram app. The company is also integrating Spotify and GoPro in their mobile app.
Integration with Other Apps
Spotify and Instagram users will be able to simply share a playlist, song or album with their followers either via Stories or through an Instagram direct message (DM). GoPro users, on the other hand, will be able to choose the clip on the GoPro app and share it directly to Instagram Stories after editing of course. None of these apps need to be linked to the user’s Instagram account.
The company is also introducing custom AR Stickers for its platform where users will be able to apply the face filters in their selfies and world filters while taking shots with the rear camera.
Instagram is also taking a strong stance on bullying and is adding a filter for offensive and abusive comments. The anti-bullying filter will identify the threatening comments and will remove them. Once rolled out, this feature will be enabled by default and the user will be able to turn it off from the settings.
The company is also bringing the much-rumored video chat feature where four users will be able to connect at the same time. Any call participant will be able to minimize the video chat to browse within the mobile app.
New Explore Page
The explore page will also get remodeled where the users will see new buttons where users will be able to swipe them to see more posts about a particular topic/subject.
