Earlier, we hinted that Instagram is soon going to unveil the live video service, and now, the company has finally launched this feature. Instagram hopes to strengthen its relationships with the users by introducing this new service. A large number of its users were demanding the company to add live video service, which is already available on other famous social media services like Twitter, and Facebook.
“Today we’re announcing two updates: live video on Instagram Stories and disappearing photos and videos for groups and friends in Instagram Direct,” the company posted on its blog.
How to use Instagram live videos feature?
Instagram was testing this feature for a long time. To start a live video, just swipe right from the feed to launch the camera app and then tap the “Start Live Video” button. You can start a live video for up to an hour. Your friends will also get the notification as soon as you start the live video.
Your friends will be able to post the comment while you share your live video with them. Also, you can turn off the comments if you don’t like the people to post their messages. Moreover, there is an option to pin a comment for everyone to see.
When any of your friends starts a live video, you will see a “Live” button near their profile in the stories bar. To see the trending live videos at any time, just hit the “Top Live” button.
Instagram, which is owned by the famous social media service Facebook, has introduced this new feature to bring something new to its users. The company is directly competing with Snap, and Twitter. This app has also launched the Disappearing Photos and Videos feature, which automatically removes the media from your friends’ inbox after they have seen them.
At present, more than 100 million people use this app. Live video streaming is a new trend, which is emerging among the youth and that is why all the great social media apps are now launching this service.
