Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is in full swing where companies from all over the world are presenting the best of technologies. One of the new entrants of the Pakistani auto market, Hyundai presented their concept car with legs. And now Kia Motors have joined the show with their amazing technology.
KIA has built a technology that will give enhanced human mobility experience when we have got total driverless and autonomous cars.
The company has presented a real-time adaptive emotional driving system (R.E.A.D). The system, based on collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), can “optimize” and “customize” the interior space of the vehicle by analyzing the emotional state of the driver in real time through technologies of artificial intelligence based on the recognition of biosignals.
The new technology is being able to alter the interior conditions of a vehicle, based on the feelings of the driver and creating a “more pleasant” driving experience. The READ system is the world’s first AI-based software that interacts with the human senses and produce fantastic results in the interior space of the car.
The new technology by KIA recognizes facial expressions, heart rate and electrodermal activity of the driver. According to the mood, it can arrange your music playlist, can give you a seat massage, control the ambient lights inside, and even control the airconditioning of the car.
There is no need to press any button and even touch the infotainment and climate control system. Users can have all controls with the simple gestures by a finger, thanks to the 3D camera sensors installed in the cabin.
Although the technology is meant for the future cars, it shows the tremendous technological advancement by the humans. Here at More News, we love the arena we are moving into.
