Kia Motors has announced that the company will commence the commercial production of its vehicle lineup in Pakistan by September this year.
The South Korean auto manufacturer is all set to start selling their cars in the country. Earlier they collaborated with the local partner, Lucky Cement (Lucky Group), and acquired Green Field Status from the government.
Kia Lucky Motors Pakistan Limited (KLM) has sent a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange stating that the company will be starting productions in the first quarter of 2019.
Kia Motors has been selling their CBU units in Pakistan since June 2018, and now they are going to produce vehicles in the country. The company has already dealerships located in different cities of Pakistan.
Kia Motors will be assembling vehicles in Pakistan while they are also making sure that the company manufacturers, and distribute parts locally with the help of their joint venture.
Kia Plant is established in Karachi while the company is still awaiting electricity and gas connections from the government. The company representatives are very confident that they will meet the deadline and provide Pakistani consumers with state of the art vehicles in every segment.
“The Assembly plant is in full swing, and we hope that there comes no bottleneck due to administrative delays by the government,” said KLM Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Faisal.
Kia Motors is among the eight new entrants in the Pakistani auto industry. The company is the second biggest automobile manufacturer in South Korea after Hyundai. We hope that they bring some feature-packed cars in Pakistan especially the entry-level cars so that Pakistanis enjoy value for money cars in the country.
