The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is organizing a one-day e-gaming competition on 26th of September. The event will take place at Jawaan Markaz, Qayyum Stadium inside Peshawar Sports Complex.

This intra-department initiative has been taken by the department of sports, culture, tourism and youth affairs. Although announced, there is very less information available from the organizers.

There is a cash prize for the winner and the runner-up but nothing has been communicated officially.

So if you are a passionate gamer, you have a chance to earn some recognition. The competition will include the following games;

  • Tekken 7
  • Fifa 2018
  • Counter-Strike
  • Snooker

There is no entry fee that is quite appreciable keeping in mind that most of the participants will be teens. The event will commence at 09:30 in the morning.

You will need a little patience for the registration because we found the number consistently busy when we tried to reach the person, or, you might get the text with the criteria and no further communication.

We really hope they dedicate someone to attend the calls from the potential participants and provide some additional details to really run the event. For example, there is no mention of the prize money; will it be an XBox game, PC version or a Playstation one?; should participants bring their gaming consoles or not?

This e-gaming competition is the succession of KP government’s approach towards youth and technology. Earlier, KP government pioneered with a Pakistan’s first electronic gaming competition held on 24th of February this year. The tournament was a huge success and provided the youngsters with an opportunity to express their talent and skills.
