Tokyo-based instant messaging service Line has crossed the one billion user mark. Line messenger officially announced it in a statement. It is the second largest instant messaging service after WhatsApp.

WhatsApp crossed the billion mark in February, this year.

Line Messenger was launched in 2011 and just after five years, it has reached the database of one billion users. In 2011, the company attracted more than 100 million users just in a few months. In 2013, it became Japan’s largest instant messaging service.

The company stated that more than 2.4 billion stickers are sent and received every day using Line. People love this communication service mostly because of its unique, colorful and cute stickers, which are always fun to use.

Line also offers games in its messaging app, which are quite entertaining. Other features include text chatting, voice call, video call, music, group call with up to 200 people at a time, and Snap Movie.

The company announced that it will soon launch an Artificial Intelligence robot app. It also has the plan to unveil a “Smart Portal” in its messaging app, which will offer a lot of exciting services and offers.

People in Pakistan mostly use WhatsApp, but if we check out the Apple’s app store chart, Line is one of the most downloaded messaging apps in Pakistan, after WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Viber.
