The startup ecosystem is growing in Pakistan and LUMS Center of Entrepreneurship (LCE), one of the main forces in the driving the entrepreneurship scene in Lahore is now becoming one with National Incubation Center (NIC).
The incubator shared this news on the popular social networking site Facebook announcing the establishment of National Incubation Center Lahore powered by LCE.
NIC was formally initiated in February this year to provide better facilities to the startups and budding entrepreneurs. NIC is a technology hub launched under the unique public-private partnership of Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom (MOITT), National ICT R&D Fund, Jazz, and Teamup.
Jazz Pakistan can be seen as the front runner in establishing NIC whose motto and vision of Digital coincide with this new project. Previously, Aamir Ibrahim, CEO Jazz on the inauguration of National Incubation Center stated; “National Incubation center project is not a CSR initiative as this is going to be the core of Jazz’s business.”
The incubation center launched applications of its 2nd Cohort in June and is working with International and local partners including FbStart by Facebook, Hult Prize, Invest2Innovate, and Acumen Fund.
LUMS Center of Entrepreneurship is hosting an open house on 29th August, welcoming all entrepreneurs to apply for the first batch of NIC Lahore.
