It is very habitual for the people to make fake accounts on social media with the name of someone else. Not only ordinary people are irritated by these profiles, but also the politicians are expressing the anger on such fake people. Maryam Nawaz – the daughter of the prime minister is annoyed by the fake Twitter accounts, which tweet by her name.
In a recent post, Maryam Nawaz has asked her Twitter followers to identify the accounts that are posting the content related to her.
“Pls report the fake account. Those ascribing the tweets to me should at least verify,” she posted.
Maryam Nawaz, who often criticises her competitors and supports her father Nawaz Sharif and primarily promotes the Pakistan Muslim League (N) on the social networking websites is annoyed by the people who pretend to be her on Twitter.
According to her, some people are spreading the irrelevant and false information by her name on the social networking platforms. She says, the tweets posted on her verified Twitter account are genuine.
Her followers advised her that she should take an action against the people who make fake accounts on Twitter under the Electronic Crimes Bill 2016, which is created by her government.
It is important to mention here that according to the newly approved Electronic Crimes law, any person who uses the identity of another person without authorization shall be punished with incarceration for three years or a fine which may extend to five million rupees, or with both. Moreover, spreading the unverified information on any website is also a crime.
One of the fake Twitter accounts is posting the amusing status updates with the name Maryam N Sharif. The account has more than 3,000 followers.
