Meizu, a Chinese smartphone brand is gearing up to commemorate its 15 years of operation with a new smartphone Meizu 15 Plus, the company’s flagship device. Over the course of time, we have seen many leaks relating to its specifications but we are not sure when the company will finally launch it for the consumers.

According to the new leaked images of the smartphone, it will feature a side fingerprint sensor instead of on the front or back of the device.

These images are not officially from Meizu but they are provided by a company that makes accessories for the company’s smartphones. Looking at the image, we can see the fingerprint sensor on the far right edge of the smartphone’s frame which is not a bad position as the hand can reach easily to unlock the device.

Meizu is not the first company to take this initiative as Sony for past few years has also been installing fingerprint sensor on the side.

In addition to the side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Meizu 15 Plus is also expected to come with extremely thin bezels, a large display and 18:9 screen aspect ratio.

The device is expected to be powered by Exynos 9810 or Snapdragon 845 chipset, features a USB Type-C charging and dual rear cameras. Currently, we are basing our assumptions based on the renders of the device and only time will tell how many of them are true.

The Alibaba backed company entered the Pakistani handset industry at the end of last year and we hope the company will introduce its flagship devices here as well.
