Meizu, the Chinese smartphone company has confirmed that it will be working with Google to create its first Android Go edition smartphone.

This marks one more company joining hands with the US-based tech giant in its international Android Go program focused on the affordability of smartphones.

Ard Boudeling, Head of Global Marketing for Meizu confirmed this news on Twitter:

This announcement comes after Google pushed its Android Go and Android One programs at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. The company also does not plan to bring any Android One devices this year, Boudeling said responding to a tweet:

Meizu has not yet provided any details regarding what features the new Android Go devices will come with or when they will be released. We’ll have to wait for the Chinese company to reveal which regions will receive the new affordable smartphones.

Meizu entered the Pakistani market at the end of last year and has recently introduced four new devices in the local market and we hope to see the Android Go smartphone later this year as well.
