It is official, Microsoft has come to terms with the harsh reality that their Windows Phones are dead and has finally admitted the truth.

In a series of tweets, Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore revealed that the company does not plan to bring in hardware and feature updates for its Windows phones.

The company has not abandoned the platform completely as the executive has described that the bugs and security fixes will continue to be released.

It has almost been a year since the demise of Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform but the company has never admitted it aloud before.

Just like Bill Gates, Belfore has admittedly switched to Android. One of the reasons the company pulled the plug on Windows Phone is that the developers never backed the platform. He tweeted:

The company is now focusing all its efforts on working towards its browser edge and intelligent cloud.
