Under the Punjab Safe Cities project and in continuation of the “peaceful Punjab vision” of the government of Punjab, the authorities have introduced new duties for the police.
In the first step of this international-level mission, Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control, and Communication Centre will be started in Lahore.
This new kind of initiative will set up an automatic traffic management system, advanced 4G-LTE network, 8000 secret cameras at the important places of the city including the entry and exit points.
More than 350 IT graduates will be employed as the communication specialists on merit basis. The communication experts will be trained under the observance of local and foreign experts. 25% of the communication specialists will be the females.
In the second step of this mission, this program will be launched in the other six large cities of Punjab, including Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, and Bahawalpur.
Moreover, the crackdown against the fake number plates is also a part of the Punjab Safe Cities project. Creating the unofficial number plates is a crime and can put you in jail. A fine of Rs. 2,00,000 will also be imposed on the owners of the fake number plates.
