Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo has said that there will be no tax imposed on the ferry service just like the ships of the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC). He encouraged the private sector to invest in the port shipping sector. Soon, the licenses will be issued for the national and international ferry service. Moreover, the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will expectedly inaugurate the deep-sea water containers terminal at Karachi Port on 20th November.
The Ministery for Ports and Shipping will provide all the important facilities to the local industrialists on the Gwadar port. Presently, the cargo clearance at the Karachi port requires the time of five to ten days or even more. But in the other parts of the world, the containers are released in just 30 minutes because there is an automatically advanced technology available there for the customs clearance. The authority will install advanced scanners at the Karachi port to speed up the cargo clearance timing. In this regard, an international tender will be issued very soon.
