Finnish smartphone maker HMD Global has recently launched Nokia X5 in China. The device has a striking similarity with the Nokia X6 which was the first Nokia phone with a notch. Although the phone is released only in China, for now, will soon be launched Globally as Nokia 5.1 Plus.
Nokia 5.1 Plus will come as the upgrade to the globally launched Nokia 5.1. With improved specs and design, Nokia 5.1 Plus has all the essentials to be the contender for next best midrange phone. Here is everything you need to know about the device.
Design and Display
Keeping up with the latest trend, Nokia 5.1 Plus encases a glass body on front and back. A polycarbonate frame is sandwiched between the glass body. The phone also hosts a notch in the display which hosts the earpiece, camera and other sensors giving it an iPhone X look.
The device features a 5.86-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. A 2.5D curved glass on the front gives the phone a premium look. The device also sports a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C charging port.
Nokia 5.1 Plus has a decent 79.6% screen to body ratio and weighs 160 grams. The device comes in different color options to choose from which include Night black, Glacier white, Baltic sea blue.
In terms of performance, the device comes with an octa-core Helio Helio P60 SoC coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It’s strange that HMD Global didn’t choose to equip the phone with a Snapdragon SoC as it did with Nokia X6.
Nokia 5.1 Plus comes in two variants in terms of memory- 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variants. The internal storage is also expandable via microSD card up to 256 GB.
In terms of camera, the phone houses a dual camera with 13MP + 5MP lenses on its back while an 8MP selfie snapper rests on the front of the phone. The camera also features phase detection autofocus and AI-based scene detection that result in better imagery.
Lastly, the device is powered by a 3060 mAh battery. Although not huge, it should be able to get you through the day.
