Nokia 8 users can now sign up for beta program of Android Oreo to test the software as ‘Nokia phones beta labs’ has been announced by Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer in a tweet yesterday.

Nokia 8 by HMD Global was officially launched in August this year with Android Nougat 7.1.1 but at that time, the company confirmed that they’re working on Android Oreo update. No doubt company has kept its promise and tried hard to provide its users with the latest OS as soon as possible, unlike other mobile phone companies but for Nokia its relatively easier because it offers stock Android.

Android Oreo update will boost the boot times, battery life will be potentially improved, new picture-in-picture mode for phones enhances video watching experience & more, hence the new OS will be more interactive in nature.

After signing up at Nokia Phones Beta Labs page, the user has to register IMEI number and other details, after which he will receive the notification of Android 8 software update within 12 hours.

Beta program sign up is for free. Although user might face ‘not so stable’ software experience while testing the Android 8, since the build is in testing phase.

However, Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 7 will follow suit after Android 8 beta testing on Nokia 8. Though in a separate news we heard that Nokia 3 is ready to receive Android Nougat 7.1.2 update.
