When the Samsung’s Android smartphones entered the market, Nokia, for quite a healthy period, lost its relevance and seemed like a company of the past. Though once again with successive releases, the mobile phone brand has slowly but surely made its way back into the smartphone world.
The comeback has been so intense that the latest release of Nokia 9 is rumored to give a tough competition to even the latest of the Samsung releases – Galaxy S8.
To begin with, both these high-end smartphones stand at almost similar positions in the context of the software and hardware. Rumors suggest that Nokia 9 is going to have an Octa-core Snapdragon 835 mobile platform and a super speedy processor, the same as Galaxy S8.
Nokia 9 would have Android 7.1 Nougat OS whereas S8 supports Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Further Nokia 9 is speculated to have a greater 6GB of RAM compared to the 4GB of S8.

For those who pay greater attention towards the camera in their respective smartphones, Nokia 9 is going to be nothing less than a treat. Nokia 9 will have a 13 MP dual back camera and 12 MP front camera. Galaxy S8, on the other hand, features a 12 MP back camera whereas the secondary front camera stands at 8 MP.
Besides this, the home button of the Nokia 9 is hinted at having an embedded fingerprint sensor whereas, in the case of S8, it lies at the rear, which is comparatively an old concept. Samsung has recently come under heavy criticism due to the placement of its fingerprint sensor.
The price for Nokia 9 is expected to be somewhere around $700/€750 which is around Rs. 74-82K whereas S8 is available in the market for Rs 87,000/.
All these facts prove that Nokia’s new flagship smartphone is indeed going to give a very tough competition to Samsung Galaxy S8. In fact, it wouldn’t be an out of the world thought to believe that the balance might just be shifted a little more in the favor of the prior.
