2017 can be marked as the comeback of the smartphone giant, Nokia. The HMD global earlier in the year brought Nokia 3, 5 & 6, a group of entry level and mid-ranged phones. Now, rumors of Nokia 9 are coming out along with the newer version of Nokia 8 that was announced back in September 2017.
The leaks hint us to believe that both the flagship phones, Nokia 9 and the revised version of Nokia 8, are landing in January 2019.
The bigger brother, Nokia 9, might face a fierce competition from LG G7 and Samsung Galaxy S9 that are also speculated to hit the market in the same month.
This is not the first time we have heard about Nokia 9 as many other rumors, like the phone having a curved glass display and no headphone jack, were already in the air.
Also, the latest news confirm that unlike the revised version of Nokia 8, Nokia 9 won’t feature a 3.5mm headphone jack in it and instead, it will opt to channel the audio via the USB Type-C port like the Pixel 2 and iPhone X. There is another factor Nokia might rely to push its flagship, the price.
We are hearing that it might cost us half the price of what the top notch phones are charging, but, thats just a rumor since we have arlready experienced the price of Nokia 3310 which was on the higher side among the feature phones. But as far as the reports are concerned, Nokia 9 is likely to stay below $ 670.
6GB is the new standard for RAM since Huawei came featuring it in Mate 10 Pro last moth, so, we are also looking forward Nokia 9 to feature 6GB in all its variants.
Apart from this, the smartphones will offer decent amount of specs. Both Nokia 8 and 9 will have a Snapdragon 835 chipset and dual rear cameras. In addition to that, both will come with an IP67 certification for water and dust protection.
These prices are pretty competitive if compared to the available flagships in the market nowadays which are insanely expensive for the similar specs. So in short, we can foresee a better market position for Nokia 9.
