Oppo has confirmed that it will hold an event in Shanghai, China on August 23 to launch the much-awaited Oppo R17 and R17 pro. The announcement was made on the official Weibo account of the company.
Oppo R17 has been in the news for its waterdrop notch style. A video demonstrating the in-display fingerprint scanner and now the company has ended the wait by announcing the date as well as the price of the phone.
The company has now updated its official listing on the website with the pricing of the latest handset which will be available on Opposhop.cn and will carry a pricing of 3,499 Yuan (~$509).
As far as the specs are concerned, the all-new OPPO R17 comes with a huge 6.4-inch AMOLED display with the company waterdrop notch design which has also been seen in the Oppo F9. It supports the FullHD+ resolution and presents an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 91.5 percent which is just behind the Oppo Find X at 93.8%. The phone hosts an all-glass design similar to the Find X.
Oppo R17 is powered by Snapdragon 670 and 8 GB of RAM. It features an internal storage of 128 GB and it also includes a microSD card slot. All of the internals draw their power from a battery of 3,500mAh battery that supports VOOC fast charging which has already proved its worth in the industry.
As for the optics, the R17 features a 16MP+ 5MP dual camera and 25MP selfie snapper. The phone will come with Android 8.1 out of the box, with an overlay of the company’s custom skin, ColorOS 5.2.
