A lot of our relatives, friends or the other people we know, work in the foreign countries to earn money. They send the money back to their families on a monthly or yearly basis. Here are the details of the money the overseas Pakistani workers sent back to their homes in the months July – May of 2015 -16.

The Pakistani people who are working in the foreign countries have sent the US $17841.63 million back to their families in the first eleven months (July – May) of the fiscal year 2016. It shows an increase of 5.6%. Last year, the workers sent US $16898.32 million back to their families during the same portion of the time.

As reported by the News International, the overseas Pakistani workers sent the US $1799.39 million in May 2016. This amount is 8.6% more than the money sent during the April 2016 and 8.2% greater than the money sent during May 2015.

Here are the May 2016 statistics of the worker’s remittance by country:

  • Saudi Arabia: US $ 547.77 million.
  • UAE: US $ 380.74 million.
  • USA: US $ 202.1 million.
  • UK: US $ 240.58 million.
  • Countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman): US $ 216.71 million.
  • EU countries: US $ 41.64 million.

May 2015 worker’s remittance by country:

  • Saudi Arabia: US $528.35 million.
  • UAE: US $399.49 million.
  • USA: US $221.12 million.
  • UK: US $194.17 million.
  • Countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman): US $190.66 million.
  • EU countries: US $28.5 million.

From Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Japan and other nations, people sent US $170 million back to their homes during May 2016 as against the US $101.03 million received in May, last year.
