Pak Army has offered a helping hand to the federal government in its landmark project of building five million houses Insaf Homes Scheme for low and middle-class people in the country.
The proposal was laid down by the army delegation invited in a meeting of the task force presided by PM Imran Khan while the aim of the meeting was to build strategy regarding Insaf Homes Scheme.
The government here wants to take the help of the Army as they are famous for devising thoughtful approaches and completing the work in the given timeline and also they have the experience of building several low-cost housing projects for their personnel in the country.
The meeting was attended by Punjab’s housing minister Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, MNA Najeeb Haroon, Quarter-Master General (QMG) Lt-Gen Moazzam Ajaz, DG Army (Lands) Maj-General Naveed Safdar, Secretary Housing Dr. Imran Zeb Khan and Saleem Ranjha of the Akhuwwat Foundation.
“Lt-Gen Moazzam Ajaz, the Quarter-Master General, made a comprehensive presentation on the army’s experience in building houses for its personnel. He also offered Army’s assistance in implementing the Insaf Homes Scheme”, PM house statement after the meeting.
Government is planning to offer a one-window solution to local and foreign investors while PM also asserted that the task force should study the perfect models built internationally as well as the local affordable loan systems like the one Akhuwat foundation is successfully administering.
Earlier, it was reported that PM is going to initiate the first wave of building housing units in Punjab, where 25 lac homes will be constructed in record time limit.
The PM asked his team to ensure that proper diligence should be observed regarding the housing projects while they should utilize the expertise of both the public and the private sector.
He also directed them to finalize the plan as soon as possible as the government announces the project officially next month while all the details regarding registration process and the documentation requirement will be made public with the announcement.
