Pak Suzuki to replace Mehran with Alto 660cc

Pak Suzuki is planning to start local production of Suzuki Alto 660cc from 2018 to replace its Mehran 800cc. The company has also revealed its plans regarding the launch of Celerio 1,000cc by March, next year and this vehicle will replace Suzuki Cultus.

Suzuki had launched its Cultus vehicle in the year 2000 to replace Suzuki Khyber. The company would also unveil imported Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV and 1,300cc Sudan Ciaz in the calendar year 2017.

According to the sources of Dawn News, Pak Suzuki will consider producing these cars in Pakistan. It is important to mention here that Suzuki had stopped the production of its FX 800cc in 1988 and replaced it with Mehran.

The news was shared with the Senate Standing Committee on Industrial and Production when it visited Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited.

Senator Hidayatullah led the delegation of the committee. Khalida Parveen, Kalsoom Perveen, and Chaudhry Tanvir Khan were also present on this occasion.

Additional Secretary, Ministry of Industries and Production, Sher Ayub Khan and Engineering Development Board CEO, Tariq Ejaz Chaudhry were also present in the delegation. It was revealed that Pak Suzuki had begun the arrangements for the manufacturing of 6600cc Alto in Pakistan.
