Pak Suzuki Motors is replacing Suzuki Cultus with 1,000cc Celerio. According to Dawn, the company is discontinuing the booking of Cultus from today.
Pak Suzuki Motors has issued a notification which reads:
“We are discontinuing booking of Suzuki Cultus with effect from February 1, 2017.”
People who have already placed their order for Suzuki Cultus will receive their finished car as promised. The company previously also revealed that they would phase out Suzuki Mehran 800cc and replace it with Suzuki Alto 660cc. In 2000, Suzuki Khyber was replaced with the Suzuki Cultus.
The local car sales have seen a decline of 3.5pc in the first six months of the fiscal year 2017. Pak Suzuki, which is also planning to enter automobile glass manufacturing business, through this move seems to gradually eliminate the worn out automobile with the new Celerio.
Many new automobile companies like Renault and hopefully FIAT Chrysler are set to enter the Pakistani market. Thus, the consumers would likely see more variety and innovative cars, the likes of which they have been deprived before.
Also, in a battle to win over consumers, Honda City 2017 is also to make its way to Pakistani markets mid-year.
